Rhododendrons on the Vee - 1
The Vee pass over the Knockmealdown Mountains is justifiably famous for its annual display of Rhododendrons. They cover the hillsides, blanket the woods and surround Bay Lough—a small lake, with an excellent echo, near the summit of the pass. Over the summit they continue on down into Waterford County.

This photo was taken on the Tipperary (north) side of the Vee looking down a firebreak from the hillside. The Golden Vale and the foothills of the Galtee Mountains are in the distance. As you can see, it is totally 'wall-to-wall' with these magnificent Himalayan flowers.
